ACNE SCARS TREATMENT VANCOUVER

ACNE SCARS

Acne scars are the result of inflammation of acne blemishes. The acne pore swells and a breakdown occurs in the wall of the pore. Some acne blemishes are small and the scars created are shallow and heal quickly. Sometimes the contents of blemishes spill into the surrounding tissue and a scar develops when there is a loss of tissue, resulting in an indentation in the surface of the skin.

DARK SPOTS (Hyperpigmentation)

Sometimes individuals mistakenly refer to dark spots (hyperpigmentation) as “acne scars”. Acne scars are different from dark spots. Scars require tissue to be damaged or overgrown. Scars are difficult to fully remove, and while they may fade over time, they usually remain visible. Dark spots from acne, on the other hand, are flat against the surface of your skin. They don’t indicate any long-term damage to your skin cells, pores, or follicles.

ACNE SCARS TREATMENT VANCOUVER

Our most popular acne scars treatment that we perform at our Metro Vancouver clinics are Microneedling and Vitamin A Infusion. These treatments are effective in treating both acne scars and dark spots.

Microneedling:

Microneedling also known as Collagen Induction Therapy is minimally invasive treatment that works by making controlled micro-injuries using surgical grade microneedles that triggers the body’s spontaneous healing response. The healing cascade invades the treated area with collagen producing fibroblasts, new collagen and elastin then forms from within treating a wide variety of skin concerns such as scarring and pigment issues.

Vitamin A Infusion (Non-inflammatory, no needles):

Vitamin A Infusion is performed via nano Infusion. A no-needle alternative to microneedling. It mimics the results of microneedling by creating micro-channels into the skin to deliver product ingredients, that would otherwise struggle to bypass the skin's lipid barrier. It does not pierce the skin, no numbing cream, no needles, no blood and no downtime.

Unlike microneedling, Vitamin A Infusion does not induce inflammation, because the channels created are nano-size (smaller than micro), penetrating the upper-epidermis only. Just enough to improve delivery of a concentrated vitamin A solution in the form of Retinaldehyde that is then custom blended with potent nutrients and antioxidants. From there the Vitamin A (retinaldehyde) is what triggers the skins regenerative processes. Retinaldehyde is a superior Vitamin A, the most potent, least irritating, and powerful stimulator of collagen and elastin, making skin thicker and more elastic. It can also lift hyperpigmentation by normalizing the activity of tyrosinase, an enzyme that plays a vital role the production of melanin.
