TEETH WHITENING AFTERCARE

POST-SESSION

Following proper teeth whitening after care is essential for long lasting results. After you whiten your teeth you should avoid eating or drinking (except for water) for 1 hour. Make sure to eat before your session.

THE WHITE DIET

The White Diet is very important post-whitening. You must keep to this for 24-48 hours and avoid any food or staining agent that will cause discoloration. Remember that after the teeth whitening treatment the pores of your enamel are open and this makes them extremely vulnerable to any staining agents. Once the pores close, which usually occurs 24-48 hours after the procedure, you can resume your normal habits.

WANT TO SKIP THE WHITE DIET?

Purchase a remineralizing gel

Use remineralizing gel (aka desensitizing gel) post-whitening to temporarily block the pores in the enamel, allowing your teeth to rehydrate. This helps to prevent restaining as well as alleviate any sensitivity.
